  • The Criminal Division is responsible for the preservation, creation, and managing of records regarding adult felony and misdemeanors. They are assigned as the clerk of the court for the 394th District Court, 205th District Court and County Court.

  • Marriage License Basic Requirements

    • Must have a valid, government-issued picture identification. Names will be reflected on the marriage license exactly as they appear on the IDs. The County Clerk's office cannot change the name or spelling of name on ID. Forms of acceptable, valid identification include:
      • Driver's License
      • State ID
      • Passport
      • Military ID
      • Visa
    • Both parties must be at least 18 years of age
    • Must know social security number.
    • Both parties must appear in person.

     


    Additional Requirements and Information

    • There is a 72-hour waiting period after the license is issued before the marriage ceremony can take place. The 72-hour waiting period can be waived by meeting one of the following criteria:
      • The waiting period does not apply if an applicant is a member of the armed forces of the United States and on active duty. Military ID must be shown to the person who performs the marriage ceremony.
      • You work for the U.S. Department of Defense as an employee or under contract.
      • Applicants possess a valid Twogether in Texas Certificate. Certificate must be shown at the time the license is issued and will need to be shown to the person who performs the ceremony.
      • The waiting period does not apply if the applicant obtains a 72-hour waiver signed by a District Judge or Justice of the Peace Judge. Waiver must be presented when filing the license after the wedding ceremony.
    • The marriage must take place within 89 days from the date of issuance - no exceptions.
    • If divorced, there is a 30-day waiting period after the divorce is final before remarriage - unless waived. If the 30-day waiting period is waived, a certified copy must be presented at the time the license is purchased.

     

    Marriage License Fees:

    Formal Marriage License $72.00

    Non- Texas Residents $172.00

    Informal Marriage License $46.00

     

    Copy Fees:

    Certified Marriage License Copy $11.00

    Affidavit for Marriage Correction $17.00

  • A JUROR’S RIGHT TO REEMPLOYMENT; NOTICE OF INTENT TO RETURN. in Bold

    (a) A private employer may not terminate the employment of a permanent employee because the employee serves as a juror or grand juror.

    (b) An employee whose employment is terminated in violation of this section is entitled to return to the same employment that the employee held when summoned for jury or grand jury service if the employee, as soon as practical after release from that service, gives the employer actual notice that the employee intends to return.
