About the Judge
Judge MacKenzie was raised in Hudspeth County beginning at 6 months old after her family moved for her father’s work where he served as a Customs Agent on the Fort Hancock Port of Entry until the early 1990’s.
The Judge’s passion for serving others has led her into just about every possible environment—from rural and suburban 911 as a nationally-registered paramedic, to Level I trauma centers, high-risk desert and event medicine, emergency management, mortgage origination and corporate compliance experience. She’s spent nearly twenty years as a leader in disaster response, prevention and preparedness, and serves on numerous committees and boards. She’s brought her linguist and critical leadership skills to countless disasters, including Hurricane Katrina, and has provided low-resource pre-hospital care in Haiti, medical clinics at refugee camps in Mexico and low resource pandemic emergency management.
In addition to her local and international humanitarian NGO work, she served as the Hudspeth County Emergency Management Coordinator and County Administrator under the Honorable County Judge Thomas D. Neely. She has become instrumental in advocacy for rural and vulnerable populations in her newest position as Hudspeth County Judge elect.
