About the Judge
Judge Joanna Mackenzie is a Hudspeth County native with more than twenty years of experience in emergency medical services, disaster response, emergency management, governmental administration, corporate compliance, and public service. Throughout her career, she has contributed to disaster and humanitarian operations across the United States and internationally, including Hurricane Katrina response efforts, emergency medical operations in Haiti and Mexico, and pandemic emergency management in underserved communities.
Prior to being elected County Judge, Judge Mackenzie served as Hudspeth County Emergency Management Coordinator and County Administrator. She currently serves as Hudspeth County Judge, Chief Elected Official, and Director of Emergency Management. Her work focuses on strengthening public safety, improving rural infrastructure, fostering regional collaboration, and supporting the long-term sustainability of rural communities along the Texas Mexico border.
